And just like that… Halloween is almost here! If you or your little one is having a difficult time thinking of costumes with braces, don’t fret. After all, there are plenty of iconic characters that adorned metal brackets and wires. So, if you are looking for last-minute inspiration this spooky season, keep reading!

#1. Josie Geller – Never Been Kissed

In 1999, the much-loved film Never Been Kissed hit theaters. Since then, Drew Barrymore’s character, Josie Geller, has become iconic in pop culture. Throughout the movie, the now copy editor gets flashbacks of her times in high school, including her prom memories. To bring that look to life, find a fantastic prom dress from a local thrift store, put your hair in a side ponytail, and add some pink lipstick for the final touch.

#2. Darla – Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is one of Pixar’s biggest franchises. With beloved characters like Dory, the first film was an overnight success. The antagonist? Darla. As the Psycho music plays, she walks in with her pigtails and braces, ready to torment the poor little fishies in the tank. All you need for this costume is a purple sweater and a plastic bag filled with water!

#3. Ted – There’s Something About Mary

From Zoolander to Meet the Parents, Ben Stiller is a well-known comedian with numerous Blockbuster hits to his name. One of the most popular? There’s Something About Mary. The beginning of the movie introduces us to his character, Ted, back in high school when he was still wearing braces. Do you remember the show The Wild Thornberrys? Eliza, the lead character, was a braces-wearing, jungle-exploring 12-year-old. All this classic character needs to come to life is braided pigtails, glasses, and a yellow shirt. To take it up a notch, place some binoculars around your neck!

#5. “Ew” Sara – Saturday Night Live

Jimmy Fallon’s hit hilarious character “Ew” Sara on Saturday Night Live has spent time with everyone from Ariana Grande to Michelle Obama! The best part? All you need to put together this Halloween costume is a pink bow, a purple spaghetti strap dress, and colorful tights.
